I described this outfit before I knew how to work the timer on my camera.In my quest to wear my favourite sneakers to work, I put this together but I still think that the other shoe options shown here are more appropriate for the classroom. What do you think? Are clean, plain sneakers in the classroom, or in any professional space, too casual?

I am on team "smart" sneakers. As long as they aren't icky running shoes (why must they be so ugly) or dirty, they can be very profesh. Maybe not in the very beginning of the semester. Also, totally yes for those non-teaching days you're stuck on campusDMeds, you must be a dancer because those hands are on fire. (I was on show choir for a very short period, and I remember the "hot hands" moves.)
OMG, what is "show choir"? Is it like "Glee"? I sang in choirs but all we ever did was stand in rows and sing (I'm falling asleep right now as I type this I'm so bored). America has showmanship, yo.I think the sneakers are okay, but I like this particular outfit best with the ballet flats. I have worn the grey sneakers with grey, wool, wide-leg dress pants, which worked better.

Oh the heyday of the American musical theatre! How great that it gets reproduced in high school and college. I would have been all over that when I was in high school. If I can find it, I'll post an old newspaper clipping of me in The Pajama Game when I was in grade 10. I had excellent costumes.The magic shoes are more comfortable. Something about the weight distribution and support being concentrated at the arch rather than on the heel, though the ball of my foot, as with all heels, does hurt at the end of the day.

Oh, meant to answer this earlier. Show choir is like an old school college/high school thing where you sing and dance, old Broadway style. We wore ugly blue rayon sequined dresses with full skirts and bloomers, and the dude wore matching blue cumberbunds and ties. I'll maybe write a post about that someday. Maybe.Also, the magic shoes are really magical, huh? Are they easier to walk in?

I'm not a big fan of sneakers in the classroom, (converse are iconic- they are allowed anywhere in my eyes) Ballet flats would add to the Audrey feel. I do love this cardi though- very classic yet the shape is current.One week and a half left of classes- wish me luck…or pity.

Sneakers are definitely not too cas. I have a friend and colleague who only wears converse sneakers for teaching, but he pairs them with a button down and tie or a blazer. I used to have awesome criss-cross velcro sneakers that I wore with jeans and a blazer or cotton skirts in the spring, but they eventually fell apart.
The Vampire Cat is killing me. I may need to visit, soon, so he can do so (while also studiously ignoring me, of course) in person.Also, Jazz Hands are awesome. 'Way to up the quality by adding the Hepburn inspiro pose. And finally, I like this outfit. A lot. And, in keeping with the Hepburnesque thing, while the sneak's are cute, the ballet flats and the crazy-interesting shoes are doing more for me. But given that you're wearing a wicked black jacket up top, the casual sneak's could work down low.
