According to Gregorc’s Style Delineator (free information available here), my primary styles are “Abstract Random” and “Concrete Random.” Apparently, this is why I do not naturally excel in either the taking or the creating of multiple choice tests. Someone of my apparent styles sees more than one right answer, regardless of the question asked and the options provided.
This is all a very long way of explaining why there are not just three photos in this post – a post which is not a test. I need your help Stylenation, if you’re even on the internet this morn. I must choose a dress to wear to a friend’s wedding this afternoon.
Here are my choices. All are comfortable. All will result in my freezing my arse off if this wedding turns out to be outdoors (a real possibility). But that can’t be helped at this point.
#1: Basic black. A-Dubs-Hubs’s favourite, at least in part because it matches his outfit best. But this isn’t high school prom. . .

Black shoes with sparkly thing: Hilary Radley
Silver shoes: Naturalizer
#2: Vintage-look Teal Lace. I love this dress and can’t believe I fit into it, again. But maybe it’s too young for me, now?

Cropped cardigan: Loft
Blazer: Mexx
Black slingbacks: Nine West
#3: Green Grecian. This option looks best with the much-mourned long-lost golden goddess sandals. But it might work with these slingbacks, no? (Obviously, there will be accessories, if this is the chosen dress.)
Dress: Laundry by Shelley Segal

I'm late to the part, no doubt you have already chosen the outfit. I have to say they are all gorgeous. I especially love the blue vintage with the white mini-cardi. I think it's sweet and lovely for an end of summer/beginning of fall wedding.
Yep, it was an outdoor wedding. It was also an outdoor (in a tent) reception. And all on a very wet lawn. At the last minute I switched out the silver for the nude shoes as the silver were rubbing especially hard against one of Thursday's blisters. And I'm glad I made the switch as the silver would have been destroyed in all the muck. As it is, I'm afraid to try cleaning the nude slingbacks just in case it the clay and crap won't wipe away and then I have to cry. But thanks, again, everybody for your comments. I wore the green with some dangly gold earrings, the above-noted shoes, minimal shapewear (note to self: the squeezy bike shorts suck. a LOT), and a cream wrap. I describe it all instead of posting a picture because I spent the whole day trying desperately not to freeze my bag off, chasing patches of sunlight and dry grass, and – of course – enjoying the wedding and plotting ways to make the new couple our new best friends. But I also fielded a number of compliments – from women, of course – on my dress. Every time that happened, I thought fondly of our blogoverse community. Y'all are awesome.

I'm too late to help out, but I love the green. Also really love the blue, but we're even having a fall-ish day here in NC, so I'm more inclined to the green. Ability to use less shapewear is always a compelling consideration.
Phew! Thanks, Stylenation. You have saved me a LOT of fussing, changing, and trying to get a real opinion out of the A-Dubs-Hubs. The decision's made, then! As much as I adore the lace dress and am tempted to wear it, I don't need (as much) shape wear with the green grecian number. I'll try to convince the Hubs to photograph the final choices at some point this eve so I can post an update photo.p.s. The sparklies on the green dress are goldish, but I may try the silver not-at-all old lady (point taken, Katie!) Naturalizers with it. The shoe choice will come down to which pair requires less moleskin foot-wrapping, I suspect!

I love the teal dress, and I don't know what the weather's like out there, but here it's not appropriate anymore… maybe for a july wedding? The green dress for sure. The drape is beautiful and its very flattering on you!
I fourth the Grecian dress! The colour is gorgeous, the shape is elegant, and the waist detail is great. I second the shawl idea for the outside bit — maybe in a taupe, or cream if you've got one? And those shoes definitely work with it.I'd go with the black dress second, and then the turquoise — the black is classic and looks great, but the green has more character.Have fun at the wedding!
I third the Grecian goddess dress and second with the silver Naturalizers if the detailing is silver. It is amazing — I love that color on you. I think it also might look kind of awesome with the blazer later at night once it starts to cool down.
The Grecian dress is stunning on you. I can't tell from the photo, but is the detailing gold or silver? If it's silver, I'd wear it with the silver Naturalizer shoes. Actually, I might wear it with those shoes even if the detailing is gold – naught wrong with mixing metallics.The black Calvin Klein is also lovely, but it depends on your feelings on wearing black at a wedding. I don't see anything wrong with it, but others have balked.And by the by, as someone who wears almost nothing but Naturalizers (bless them for making triple narrow width), the world needs to stop calling them old lady shoes (as you have before), otherwise I'll be destined to be barefoot until I'm at least 50 ;)P.S. Grecian Goddess! Grecian Goddess! I really like it with the neutral shoes. And you can bring a pashmina for the outdoor part of the ceremony where everyone else, except the boys, will be freezing too. It's like the opposite of a summer wedding.
